Infants & Toddlers

At Hamilton Family Counseling we specialize in children ages 1-12 including infants as young as 12 months old and toddlers as old as 2.5 years old. For these young ones, we provide the PC-CARE parenting protocol developed at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

Parents learn about infant and toddler development, including social-emotional milestones, what’s typical, what isn’t, and what they can do to help their child advance through all social-emotional stages.

Parents are also taught a special set of play therapy skills and calming skills to soothe their infant’s and toddler’s fussiness or tantrums, secure bonding and attachment, and strengthen every other area of development including cognition, language, and motor development.

In as few as 6 sessions, parents can build their confidence in their parenting skills, whether they are first-time parents, newly adopting, want to prepare for the “terrific two’s,” or just want to be sure they are doing everything possible to strengthen their bond and their child’s development and happiness.
